Adamantium in the comics is compatible with bones, grows right around adamantium. Turns out the elements on the periodic table share similiar characteristics as the elements in each vertical group. Titanium is utilized in joint replacements(shoulders, knees, hips, teeth implants) because the body doesn't reject it.

Titanium is directly above in the same vertical column group as Thorium. I think it's adamantium. Now...Thorium and Radium don't cancel inertia, are unbreakable like mentioned in the comics.
