My latin is pretty rusty, how is yours?

Are you currently learning it at school, or on your own? We can practice sometime if you like because I don't want to lose my abilities

I mostly just know some ecclesiastical latin from Catholic literature and prayers. I only know a couple of phrases in classical. I never learned it in school.

Got it. I did latin 101, and 102 in college so I can read, write, and speak it at a novice level

Yes, I'm a sophomore

Cool, you can probably learn latin at your school

However, my school did it in a way that is different to most. If you learn it, you'll likely go through each word and have to review all the parts of it like genitive, ablative, etc instead of just learning it like a regular language

I almost want to go back to learn more Latin and have it as a minor

I didn't focus as hard on it because of my other more important classes sadly. I was always a lackluster student but at least I got the major courses finished, and well enough too

I want to try and pick up another language if I can fit it into my schedule. I know a decent amount of Spanish but I'd rather know Latin or French. I have a pretty busy schedule and I'm thinking about adding an additional minor as well, so it might not be feasible, but we'll see.

Ok, nice. Yeah I don't really agree with most of the economic ideas taught in my school's program but I'm interested in the financial side that I'll be studying later on.

Cool. Does that involve a lot of math? I was always horrible at math. I flunked out of my business math class at my first year of college and decided to go from business major to Poli Sci, and then history

Yes. Economics is sometimes considered a stem field because of econometrics classes which are very math heavy. I haven't taken any of the econometrics courses yet but I'm not looking forward to them. Ive always been a more of an essay writer and creative thinker than logician, but I won't really have to use much of the math related stuff once I'm out of college unless I go into a very specific field in economics.

Yes that would be the wrong term, but you have a lot of time to still think about what you want to do. Like I said, I went into college thinking I would do something "practical" like business, realized I was still garbage at math like I've always been. I then decided to do Poli Sci, and realized that I hated the American government, how it functioned, and how I was actively trying overthrow said system, so it wasn't relevant at all. Then I went with what I was always good at: history.

You wouldn't happen to be an artist would you?

You mentioned creative thinking and was wondering if there was more to that.

Well, I kind of still want to be an expert in how the current US government and its economic systems functions. I already know enough about the Keynesian Capitalism to know why I don't like it and yes I understand that it's going to be torture to sit through propaganda for the next two and a half years, but I still think I'll be able to get through it. I have already taken two math classes and I did alright in both of them. I've always been in interested in history as well and I thought about maybe doing that and eventually applying to law school, but I kind of lost interest in law. I figured if I do regain interest, I'm still in a degree which I could use for law, but it could also be more practical on its own. I've done very minor art, but I'm not that great at it. If you're referring to art in other forms, like writing, I'd say I'm pretty good at that.

That's ok if you don't want to do law school, I'm doing it so I can take care of that lol

But yes, if you ever changed your mind your degree would be able to get you there just fine.

If we're actively trying to rebel against the government we need intuitive economic solutions also so I want to be able to contribute there

Sounds like a plan my man. I have no skills or interest in that area so I'm glad someone else does

Ah ok, what kind of law?

Not sure yet. My biggest concern right now is getting this LSAT out of the way and then I'll figure out what I want to do once I get there. The first year of law school is designed to give students a taste of everything, while also trying to break their spirits. It's actually closer to a year of history than actually learning hwo to be a lawyer

Well, good luck with that exam; I've heard it's quite difficult. I'm definitely open to the advice and recommendations. I still very uncertain on what my plans are after I finish my undergrad.

I've been out for nearly 6 moths and I got distracted by some other things, but I have been working well in a lot of other areas. My student loans are coming soon so I have to get a "real" job to start paying them. The work I do currently doesn't pay very much at all, but my interview is tomorrow and I'm confident I will get the job

After that I have 6 months of LSAT training to do before I take the test

I went to college at one of the most liberal schools in the country. I used to be Lawrence WA before I moved to Florida. If I can survive college in WA I think I can last anywhere.

I'm sure you'll get it all sorted out finish well on that test; You seem like a great guy. I go to a fairly conservative school, as far as universities go, but it's still liberal. I'm from California, so I escaping a much more liberal location to go to school. I'll be at the event in December so maybe meet up and talk then.
