1:00 this section would be great for slow motion, try putting some of those clips through frame blending and have some of the hiking footage in slow motion
3:16 - try putting this clip in slow motion as well and see how it looks
Bridge stencil - 3rd person perspective is good in fast motion, I don't like the go pro angle in fast motion, though.
The articles about stencils in the corner during the action - I like the idea but it seems a bit rough to me. Try out some other ways to show them. If you can't find a way that you like I'll try and brainstorm some ideas with you tomorrow
I don't really like this clip of the flurry of hands, looks a bit silly
Everything else is awesome
Try replacing all the fast motion go pro footage from the train bridge footage with a few clips of it in regular motion, and put in the go pro footage of walking the entire line at the end showing all the letters up close in fast motion
What if we made a big video that combined that M2R documentary for IDay and the official video? Cut them all together as if it was one big required viewing experience.
Third National Video Ideas:
30 Second Opening Flashing Intense Highlights, Similar to The Trailer, Cuts Out and Starts with "X Number of Hours To Drop Site." This tagline can be a subtitle that shows during a few sections leading up to the main point.
Restrain heavy music from some sections and prioritize a minute or so of raw, clean audio. We can buy more mics for this. Intense music should be like a soundtrack that goes from Intro > Drop Site > Speech > Pick Up > Aftermath. In between there should be shots with light ambience and simple tones over crisp audio.
Starting shots should include clips of transit. Bags zipping up. Jackets being folded. Van doors sliding shut. Audio of organizers dictating schedule, conduct, pep talks.
After that, some short dark clips of the checkpoint, then straight into drilling. Audio of men instructing, cut to clips of shieldbearers hoisting their equipment, strapping on their protective gear, donning their dress code items. Final affirmations of plans and regimentation from instructors and team leaders.
Cute intense music during Drop Site Section. Include usual banter and sounds.
Music slows as march enters early tempo. Wind, boots on concrete, flags fluttering, anticipation ambience, builds as cops begin to flank the march. Crescendo as the formation enters speech grounds.
Then we can figure out a way to transition from the Exfil to the Aftermath.
I want this to be unlike a documentary like we did previously, the dialogue is all directed at people other than the camera. It's all candid (even if we give guys lines). This way we can capitalize on the additional cameras and equipment, provide a more high-fi experience, while not taking away from any niches that M2R may want to fill.
Thoughts?
@Jason NY With the AR seemingly almost done, how are we on that boxing instructional?
I haven't gotten started on it yet
@Mason TX I can't figure out a way to get those news article screenshots in the footage that I like so I'm calling on your brainpower
Can you do me a favor and send me the screen shots that you are using for the headlines and the file names of the videos corresponding to them? You don't really need to include the file names of every single video you play with them, just give me an idea of where to find the spots that go along with them and I'll play around with it
PA/mural.mp4
WA/DSCF3010.mov
VA/202108_014627.mov
file extensions might be different for you, I encode all files before importing to editor
Oh man that's awesome, very clever
It might look better if the clip started first and then warped into the news article towards the end of the clip. I felt like the momentum of the music was stopped by having the static article image come in first.
Yeah I agree, the static clips are a bit jarring
Think I fixed that problem by moving back the first one
Agreed, looks great
I think it's 5-6 seconds longer than the section you had in there, hopefully isn't too hard to squeeze it in
Draft 3 of the September-October action report:
https://mega.nz/file/nl0xBYqT#WPQOTGDsPAmsYiGtj_oGwqpuPc_RLrbp9foprskLPz0
- Finished blurring faces, tattoos, eyes
- Mixed audio levels
- Added radio chatter for banner drop, properly vocoded for anonymity
- Removed any other voices from audio
- Added slow motion with frame blending @ Mason's suggestion
- Followed Mason's suggestion for bridge stencils
- Added Mason's news articles clip
- PA fight scene towards end of video is much better now
In my opinion: ready for release.

Also; encoded from 500mb to 140mb with CQ & Web Optimization. This 1 file is good for telegram & streaming sites.
Sweet
Good catch thanks
I'm gonna give alan a voucher for laser removal smh
Everything else looks all good to me
Great AR
I'm gonna finish the hiking video today and Thomas and I are gonna be leaving town for like 1.5 weeks so I'm gonna pass it to you Jason to do color grading and face blurring
I'm 100% going to invest the extra money in a high end laptop powerful enough to do video editing instead of building a new computer so I can start editing footage on the road
@Jason NY Here is the Summer 2021 hiking video. Color grading is done, please blur the faces when you can.
Can you remove the transitions? It's hard to blur with frames blending into eachother
I will blur all the scenes that I can
Look into blurring on an adjustment layer above the clips.
I'm not sure if they will be called adjustment layers on your software but I'm sure it exists. It's just a transparent layer that goes in the timeline overtop and you should be able to put blurs on there instead of the actual clip
Actually shoot you aren't even working on a regular timeline since it's just exported to you
Yeah that's what I typically do, it just looks weird to blur with a fade in transition
Because the frames combine
Just do everything you can and I'll see if I can fill in the rest if I can get it running alright on my laptop
Will do
It's alright if some of the blurs bleed over into the other clips too, it's probably a huge deal. Can you send me a sample of what you are able to do on a dissolve transition?
Yeah I'll send one soon
It just looks like a blur that doesn't belong in the shot, but I have to put it there because someone's face is in the frame at like 10% opacity
Anyone critiquing the fact that we're protecting our guys because of some visual artifacts can stuff it. Do what it takes. Now is a key time to get the video out.
Okay, will do
Btw Thomas if you can explain to me some specifics about how you make the thumbnails like the softness/opacity of the eraser tool and the color values of the blue filter I might be able to make the thumbnails while you're on the road
I am pretty good at photoshop but I've been stuck using GIMP for a few years
I can make the thumbnails, that's easy.
We have one waiting, though, and I just forgot, what month is it?
It's September-October combined
Sure thing. Will get that done.
Awesome thanks, I'll have the blurred hike footage in this channel by the end of today
If you do that I'll have you the thumbnail by the same time.
Sounds like a plan
Looks good thanks
I severely underestimated the time requirement of blurring this video however I said I would get it done tonight so I will, might be within a few minutes of 12 am though lol
I left the back of some guys heads unblurred if I thought their haircut was very indistinguishable and if they were far from the camera
Also some faces in the far distance might be unblurred but they are just pixels
Let me know if something definitely needs blurring though
1:06 you blurred my face.
6:53 blur the back of this head.
Aside from those it looks good.
I genuinely thought you were someone else in that frame lol
Fixed the blurring issues you pointed out and 1 other one that I found near the end of the video
Needs a thumbnail and then I'll export and encode for final release
The September-October action report is also ready for release, uploading now.
Damn that thumbnail is amazing
He's the mountain
Adding thumbnail and rendering now, in the mean time here's the action report
PatriotFront September-October Activism in MO, WA, PA, CO, TX, FL, UT, OH, MI, GA, NC, CA, VA, AZ, DE, VT, MA and MD.
Check out the quality btw. File size reduced from 500mb to 143mb and it still looks great.
I also recently turned the full "reclaim america" video on our front page into a 10mb webm
Here's the hiking footage:
https://mega.nz/file/btk03baI#oOq65lltak3EdOgFEcuDipLO9oqiNot2pJUM-Uiif2c
Thumbnail added and file size compressed, web optimized & ready to go.
Sad to see that the action report has gotten very little traction or shares from other telegram channels. I thought it was gonna be an instant hit.
Hike video is going up today.
Hopefully it will draw attention to the AR as well
Mountain video is UP.
Such a good video, I'm sure it will be well received.
Sounds videos like ARs are like sleepers that pick up steam later on
