i tried to explain that to a lefty buddy of mine the other day

he just came back with me

at the time we were talking about still being able to drive gas powered cars once everyone else had went electric

in my mind once the bulk of the people have converted, then the lest few of us still loving our cars wont be so bad

and should still be allowed

but his solution was just nope

I don't see electric as viable any time soon because of material science

ya the more i think about it the more i keep going back to the hydrogren electric cell is the only real way to go

its the only option that is a transition that allows the current infostructure to just blend into the new thing

at least transitionally speaking

gas companies and the things build to support that industry isnt going to just go away, but if they can start selling the hydrogenfuel, then its something to keep the gears rolling until a better option is found

To drive from coast to coast, is impossible for any electric cars with current materials

well.. you just have to charge along the way

i mean

i still have to gas up to drive across country

There are a few dead zones in the ranges

just depends on the route you take

you can make it cross country with the tesla spots the way i understand it

i havent put that to my own test

and up and down the east and west coasts

the midwest isnt fleshed out yet

pretty sure it's impossible to drive from coast to coast with gasoline cars without refueling....

the biggest problem is still the time it takes to charge

There are few out of range spots in the west that make it impossible

i cant sit there for hours waiting in kansas

its nice to drive through, i went recently, but i was pretty stoked when we finally made it across kansas

i like the battery swapping idea he was going to go with for a while

but he dropped it for some reason

but hell that demo he had of swapping all the batteries in a line while the bmw gased up was pretty impresive
