I imagine the hard part is getting a country to let you stay.

True, you can try to get to another country that may not be as unstable as yours, though that may be quite the trek to make.

Because you can not target specific religion in immigration policies, sone eu countries have introduced reqiurements for skill, education, ability to learn host language.

Going to Canada, working, and staying is difficult unless you have a large (usually racial [or ethnic]) cohort of illegals, or a good job lined up (with the "labour market impact assessment" squared away).
