aka
Kung Fu
but in Current year.
Oh don't even get me started on Defenders.
I swear to god. Everything I hated about Jessica, was worse.
That smug fucking face.
Yes.
I liked all 3 of the other guys more than her.
same with Daredevil
And she had this UNEARNED expression on her face.
Isn't she literally just BORN to have her powers?
Luke Cage got his powers through unbelievable pain.
You see his origin, and you wince.
And when they have to heal his body, it's even WORSE.
What did Jessica do, to earn her miraculous strength.
If it was later in the season, I have no idea because I wasn't there.
She had..experiments done to her that she doesn't remember
Luke Cage season 1 is pretty good, again, until the middle.
They do a great job building up Diamondback.
The problem is the payoff.
You assume what he sees GLOWING IN THAT CRATE, is a fucking subpar Ironman suit. Which could've been pretty good for a street level series.
Because it was made by the villain of Ironman 2. Remember that guy? He could make SOME tech.
... Here's what turns out was glowing in that crate.
PREPARE YOURSELF.
FOR THE LETDOWN I'VE BEEN IMPLYING
3. 2. 1.
A weak outfit that mirrors his original design in a way.
And a shitty fight to match it.
Literally just two powerful dudes in a street, clobbering each other.
Luke Cage just wins. No special reason. No clever move. No kaioken. No Piccolo beam cannon self-sacrifice.
Just, one gets tired before the other. Luke wins.
Punisher. Used a sniper rifle. To blow away ninjas. When Daredevil and Elektra were losing a massive rooftop fight.
Punisher developed as a character, to have an effection for Matt Murdock. Enough to kill mytho-historical hell ninjas with a modern marvel of weaponry.
If that was a cake, you wouldn't dare eat it. It's too beautiful as is.
Here's what I hope happens one day.
I hope Daredevil, or Punisher, gets a Spider-Man team-up episode.
Spider-Man has to fulfill his role as a visitor of all levels. He's what binds Marvel together.
He's there for the little guys, and the big guys. That's Peter Parker.
