he spoke to his daughter very calmly about what happened, went over to the guy calmly, the guy admitted what he did, tried to escape and tommy kept him there so that the police can arrive. at least from the accounts of people who were actually there.
its not looking for trouble to want to have someone who assaulted your daughter arrested
now i'm not saying tommy is perfect, because he clearly is not, but i dont think he deserves to be charged for assault. if anything its citizens arrest.
now, thats not neccesarily the full story or an honest depiction of it, but its all the coppers had to go on at that point, and they decided to side with the pedophile.
