Ill help you, check Migrant Observatory oxford

2020-03-10 09:33:28 UTC

read a little

2020-03-10 09:35:01 UTC

All the evidence points to government not building homes

2020-03-10 09:35:05 UTC

I'm baffled you cant work it out

2020-03-10 09:35:22 UTC

but keep blaming migrants in forests

2020-03-10 09:35:30 UTC

Yes, not buildings homes to sustain the population growth!

2020-03-10 09:35:39 UTC

Not building enough I should say

2020-03-10 09:35:48 UTC

So who's fault is it?

2020-03-10 09:35:54 UTC

The government or the immigrant

2020-03-10 09:36:08 UTC

So, let's ask ourselves, what's one reason for the large population growth...? Hmmmm........

2020-03-10 09:36:25 UTC

sex

2020-03-10 09:36:36 UTC

Yeah, procreation is one reason

2020-03-10 09:36:47 UTC

Other is net migration

2020-03-10 09:36:51 UTC

Yes good

2020-03-10 09:37:03 UTC

And as to the fault, I'd generally blame the EU

2020-03-10 09:37:21 UTC

you blame the EU for the government reneging on its promise of building 200k starter homes?

2020-03-10 09:37:27 UTC

If the Tories fuck up post Brexit then itll squarely be their fault

2020-03-10 09:37:43 UTC

even though it was funded and costed in the budget?

2020-03-10 09:38:03 UTC

We wouldn't need so many homes if we didn't have the EUs border policies

2020-03-10 09:38:14 UTC

Hence were fucking leaving

2020-03-10 09:38:26 UTC

id like a source for that claim

2020-03-10 09:39:03 UTC

You do know that the government did buy the land and spent some 200 million but then threw the money away in some other projects right?

2020-03-10 09:39:09 UTC

is that also EUs fault?

2020-03-10 09:39:37 UTC

EUs single market is the source

2020-03-10 09:39:49 UTC

Free movement of goods and people

2020-03-10 09:40:16 UTC

No of course the governments ineptitude is not the EUs fault

2020-03-10 09:40:26 UTC

> We wouldn't need so many homes if we didn't have the EUs border policies
@Hopix
explain

2020-03-10 09:40:43 UTC

Look up the single market and customs union

2020-03-10 09:41:27 UTC

And also the EUs unwillingness the intervene in stopping the mass trafficking going on in Northern Africa

2020-03-10 09:44:16 UTC

Okay I don't think you still understand this and keep blaming EU free movement for the housing crisis. The government hasn't been building enough houses to keep up with the population for a very long time. Over a million british citizens are still waiting for homes. That's social housing by the way, not private sector which is what most EU and other nationalities use.

Can you just confirm if you agree with this.

2020-03-10 09:51:42 UTC

also i would like to point out that population increase has been from immigration

2020-03-10 09:53:15 UTC

Thats a given considering the ageing population of the UK

2020-03-10 09:53:34 UTC

More old people are living longer

2020-03-10 09:53:36 UTC

Yeah, UK birthrate is something like 1.8 children per family, below the 2.1 needed for a sustained population, let alone growth

2020-03-10 09:54:10 UTC

Most population growth is from 'new arrivals' as it were

2020-03-10 09:54:29 UTC

I partially agree. I am blaming more than one thing though, immigration, government ineptitude, the EU and foreign property investors are all to blame. Secondly, I dont have figures for immigrants in social housing but if its above 0% then its negatively impacting natives from having said housing.

2020-03-10 09:55:42 UTC

Also, there are many houses in the UK that are empty, in Reading there are tons of new 'affordable' homes with no buyers

2020-03-10 09:56:13 UTC

And the 'affordable' development near my village recently sold it's first house

2020-03-10 09:56:30 UTC

After 3 years, and only one of about 10

2020-03-10 09:57:15 UTC

1 house sold in three years out of 10

2020-03-10 09:57:36 UTC

Ye it's become a local joke
