If you start playing it, at any point, be in voice chat with one of the friends that play it. It'll smoothen the process a lot (also remember the buttons for going to orbit/viewing director)

I enjoy these games but not when they have MMO levels of required investment

I wouldn't say its mmo level investment in handling every aspect of the game at once. You can flat out ignore things once you've tried it and figured out what you liked

I haven't played gambit almost at all until like 2 weeks ago when I played it with those two goons. You can also get pretty much everything in the game without massively optimizing build or equipment, even if it helps a lot to do that

But there are a lot of things to keep track of, if you want to have options for every activity. Especially the pvp, where you'll get formally introduced to the entire meta if you play any time earlier than 6pm today (New Season starts)

Yeah my friends are ***deep*** into seasons and gambit and all that stuff. Hell they both turned me down just 30 min ago just to wrap up before the season ends

I already did everything I need to, as far as I know. Didn't get the perfect rolls on every weapon available, but I got on the ones I enjoy using

First time in 2 weeks that I've been able to play

Anyway I digress, I'm just looking for a few people to play DS2 or DSR after 4am or on weekends

Not sure of timezone, but could maybe sometime. Got a bunch of things I want to do in the start of new season, and then once that slows down again I kind of want to explore builds in DS2

Double Whips was most of my playthrough so far, but the atrocious animation time on that made it unsatisfying to play with. Now I got Bonefist/Caestus powerstanced and its much more fun, and magic stuff looks good

Once did a double bone fist

Not as effective

Also made a magic magic shield

You get the same moveset with just one, and Caestus has higher damage

Fun as hell to see spell casters freak when they see no damage

Double old whips are broken

Killed a lot of people in pvp like that

I got one old whip, but it sucks in pve due to the terrible durability

My friends basically banned me from using that on them again

so for dual whips I farmed out two Bloodstained whips

I enjoyed dual whips for a while, partially due to ps2 nostalgia (Ty the tasmanian Tiger 2), but it takes so long to be able to roll/move again after

Try upping your adaptability

I did a Boxer build with nothing but strength and adaptability

Well it increases the I frames of your rolls

because it wasn't my roll being slow or bad, its because while the whips get rolled up you are locked, and it takes so long

several enemies could be standing still, I do my attack, and their animation starts after I do, but they still land their hit before I can roll

Try rolling attacks for counters and only using heavy attacks for sure shots during an opponents longer animations

Yeah, i'd have to get used to spamming heavy attacks, since they're fairly faster

but still, Bonefist is more fun regardless

Next stop is either an endgame Curved GS, and the Puzzling Stone Sword

or just more caestus
