`Clinton’s persistence in the anti-Qadhafi cause has been such a constant in the White House in recent days that Obama, according to reports, joked about Clinton lobbing rocks through his window during his remarks at Saturday night’s Gridiron dinner.`

Meanwhile, no one can explain how toppling Gaddafi was in the US interest.

Gaddafi was talking mad shit about the west for decades. So when a bunch of angry Arab decided that they don't want him in power. NATO simply gave them a little boost

<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muammar_Gaddafi#Capture_and_death:_September%E2%80%93October_2011>
`Surrounding himself with bodyguards,[338] he continually moved residences to escape NTC shelling, devoting his days to prayer and reading the Qur'an.[339] On 20 October, Gaddafi broke out of Sirte's District 2 in a joint civilian-military convoy, hoping to take refuge in the Jarref Valley.[340][341] At around 8.30am, NATO bombers attacked, destroying at least 14 vehicles and killing at least 53.[341][342] The convoy scattered, and Gaddafi and those closest to him fled to a nearby villa, which was shelled by rebel militia from Misrata. Fleeing to a construction site, Gaddafi and his inner cohort hid inside drainage pipes while his bodyguards battled the rebels; in the conflict, Gaddafi suffered head injuries from a grenade blast while defence minister Abu-Bakr Yunis Jabr was killed.[341][343]

The Misrata militia took Gaddafi prisoner, causing serious injuries as they tried to apprehend him; the events were filmed on a mobile phone. A video appears to picture Gaddafi being poked or stabbed in the anus "with some kind of stick or knife"[344] or possibly a bayonet.[345] Pulled onto the front of a pick-up truck, he fell off as it drove away. His semi-naked, lifeless body was then placed into an ambulance and taken to Misrata; upon arrival, he was found to be dead.`

>NATO bombers attacked

2018-11-13 19:54:03 UTC

(hint: who in NATO actually has bombers?)

2018-11-13 19:54:31 UTC

Everyone that is important

2018-11-13 19:54:32 UTC

F-16s are multi role

2018-11-13 19:54:45 UTC

It's a fighter/bomber

2018-11-13 19:54:58 UTC

Most war planes nowadays are

2018-11-13 19:55:01 UTC

Eurofighters and Tornadoes can fill the same role

2018-11-13 19:57:11 UTC

America and russia are the only ones who have strategic bombers

2018-11-13 19:57:34 UTC

But they were not used in the Libyan fiasco

2018-11-13 19:57:43 UTC

US deployed B1s.

2018-11-13 19:58:16 UTC

<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_military_intervention_in_Libya#Forces_committed>
`United States: The United States deployed a naval force of 11 ships, including the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge, the amphibious transport dock USS Ponce, the guided-missile destroyers USS Barry and USS Stout, the nuclear attack submarines USS Providence and USS Scranton, the cruise missile submarine USS Florida and the amphibious command ship USS Mount Whitney.[148][149][150] Additionally, A-10 ground-attack aircraft, two B-1B bombers[151], three Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit stealth bombers[152], AV-8B Harrier II jump-jets, EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft, P-3 Orions, and both McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle[153] and F-16 fighters were involved in action over Libya.[154] U-2 reconnaissance aircraft were stationed on Cyprus. On 18 March, two AC-130Us arrived at RAF Mildenhall as well as additional tanker aircraft.[citation needed] On 24 March 2 E-8Cs operated from Naval Station Rota Spain, which indicated an increase of ground attacks.[citation needed] An undisclosed number of CIA operatives were said to be in Libya to gather intelligence for airstrikes and make contacts with rebels.[155] The US also used MQ-1 Predator UAVs to strike targets in Libya on 23 April.[156]`

2018-11-13 19:58:49 UTC

I stand corrected

2018-11-13 19:58:59 UTC

NATO without the US could not have done anything to Libya.

2018-11-13 19:59:03 UTC

Lazy ass frenchy

2018-11-13 19:59:24 UTC

The French even ran out of bombs after the US started helping.

2018-11-13 19:59:34 UTC

According to the medial reports no mater what it is, if it drops bombs it is a Bomber unless it is muslim in which case it is the victim.

2018-11-13 19:59:43 UTC

But anyway, the point is that there was NO FUCKING REASON for the US to get involved.

2018-11-13 20:00:01 UTC

Wtf, we still use U-2? That's from the 60s

2018-11-13 20:00:40 UTC

As far as I'm concerned, the only reason the US got involved is so that Hillary could shore up her foreign policy credentials before her presidential run. She could point to Gaddafi and claim she was "tough".

2018-11-13 20:00:54 UTC

It was Clinton. I was talking to people in AFROCOM and they were trying to get the Europeans to step up like they promised and then watched as the Europeans couldn't handle it on their own.

2018-11-13 20:00:54 UTC

Maybe Gaddafi shouldve try harder to be friendly to the west
