or tatch some seaplants

2018-12-01 06:31:52 UTC

No, where would they get the air? Also the pressure is astronomical

2018-12-01 06:32:27 UTC

And carbon enriching is going to be impossible if you're under water

2018-12-01 06:32:38 UTC

You can't use ANY metallurgy techniques we use on the surface

2018-12-01 06:32:41 UTC

Can't teach an old dog Jew tricks

2018-12-01 06:32:42 UTC

volcanic fissures can provide a lot

2018-12-01 06:33:00 UTC

That's toxic gas filled with chemicals that would oxidize metals

2018-12-01 06:33:21 UTC

Ofc it could be non toxic to the creatures, but it would still fuck the metal

2018-12-01 06:35:36 UTC

bigger issue would be that most weapons are useless except spears

2018-12-01 06:35:47 UTC

even then, limited

2018-12-01 06:35:57 UTC

Yeah you'd have to rely on non metal thrusting weapons

2018-12-01 06:36:22 UTC

My gut tells me that life couldn't even get that far though

2018-12-01 06:36:38 UTC

Intelligent life sounds impossible under miles of ocean

2018-12-01 06:36:47 UTC

can't swing anything underwater, and throwing anything would fail as well

2018-12-01 06:48:21 UTC

Hooks can be a weapon

2018-12-01 06:48:38 UTC

Grabbing the opponent

2018-12-01 07:02:19 UTC

What are you gonna use for a hook? No metal or wood around

2018-12-01 07:02:29 UTC

Jagged rocks

2018-12-01 07:02:30 UTC

Stone will be trash I think

2018-12-01 07:02:38 UTC

That's not gonna be a hook

2018-12-01 07:02:44 UTC

Actually not really

2018-12-01 07:02:52 UTC

curious. Not counting their initial search engine and the ad business. What has google created (not bought) that hasn't been a complete shitshow and a massive failure

2018-12-01 07:02:55 UTC

obsidian

2018-12-01 07:02:59 UTC

It most likely will be very hard @DrWittMDPhD

2018-12-01 07:03:04 UTC

because pressure

2018-12-01 07:03:21 UTC

And it managed to survive

2018-12-01 07:03:39 UTC

Or perhaps a species of coral that can endure

2018-12-01 07:03:42 UTC

Obsidian is too brittle. A knife makes more sense because thrusting and cutting, but a hook has a lot of torque in it's use

2018-12-01 07:03:46 UTC

it would snap the obsidian

2018-12-01 07:03:58 UTC

a spear tip though

2018-12-01 07:04:02 UTC

If coral is put into shapes and grown you can grow structure

2018-12-01 07:04:03 UTC

Yeah not a hook though

2018-12-01 07:04:29 UTC

adding a pair of barbs would be better then a hook anyway

2018-12-01 07:04:34 UTC

Yeah

2018-12-01 07:05:52 UTC

I still don't think you can even get to the tool usage point in the deep sea

2018-12-01 07:06:38 UTC

I don't think there's enough exploitable resources to influence the evolution of sufficiently intelligent creature

2018-12-01 07:12:55 UTC

its an i ronic @DrWittMDPhD sometimes i put random in the chat

2018-12-01 07:13:15 UTC

i put stuck not struck

2018-12-01 07:14:04 UTC

👍

2018-12-01 08:02:20 UTC

Orange man bad
