i see why france is rioting lol
I think its cheaper in france than it is here
what country?
£
GB
EN
UK
🇬🇧 <-
yes, looks like avergae in france right now is 1.45 euro/l
and our gov has not raised fuel duty since 2010
so its always been this expensive
same website has GB average as 1.24 though so it may just be you
prices dont really fluctuate around the UK
only on motorways... so like... maybe 10 stations will have a higher price
and even then it will be like... 0.05 extra
average value for United Kingdom during that period was 1.30 U.K. Pound Sterling with a minimum of 1.24 U.K. Pound Sterling on 03-Dec-2018 and a maximum of 1.32 U.
nbot sure conversipn
its more than 1.32 just down the road from me... 😛
what is your average transit distance to/from school work etc?
I work from home
and even when I used to work in east london Id only drive to the station about 15mins away.. and then get on a 1hr 30min train journey
i sometimes drive to my mums on the weekends... thata a 2hr drive
ahh, but see youre taking the train then
most places in the us don't have transit like that
and apparently rural france doesnt either
the issue with the fuel tax in france was that it was disproportinately affecting the rural folk without access to public transit to and from work
france is very much an exporting country when it comes to food/agriculture so they will have a massive driving need
the trucks coming into the UK back up for miles at the border
Taxes like that always affect the poor the most.
yes, thats why they call it a regressive tax
The car that Rebecca and I had had a 13 gallon tank.
https://resourcetrade.earth/data?year=2016&exporter=251&category=1&units=weight
boosting the price of a gallon of gas by a dollar is 15 bucks a week.
and we didn't drive -that- much, if you take a real family, with two vehicles both filling their gas tanks every week?
taxing gas by a dollar turns into a 100+ dollars a month.
yeah, and the rich that can afford to live in the city and walk or bike to work arent paying any of it lol
56.1m tonnes to export to other countries
per year
just agriculture
that is a decent graphic, but its not really showing me the method of export, truck or boat/plane whatever
