so in that sense, there is already surveillance
but it's not as bad as silicon valley
The silicon valley stuff ties into NSA shit
at least there are some limits on government surveillance
facebook and google are entitled to do whatever they want with the information
One of the reasons why MS got so big on telemetry was because they were selling that data to the NSA
the government is much more restricted
yes
They have a proven record of not following restrictions. Why do you expect them to have done so now?
but my point is that if you have real banking relationships
you have more protection there
than you do with some unregulated startup handling the transactions
Beemann knows whats up.
You no longer have a 4th
sadly true
but you don't even have the fantasy of a 4th with google or facebook
and you have no legal recourse whatsoever when they violate your sense of privacy
We are on the way to getting it. There is a lot of talk of putting an update magna carta in to.
just for the record
I think blockchain based solutions will succeed
eventually
but only if the adolescent management of silicon valley startups is effectively removed from the equation
You can't miss what you never had.
agreed
you really are a hell of a lot worse off with google than a bank
but the silicon valley corps are just a joke
The banking system tanked the economy and got bailed out
And all we have to go on is an institutional pinkie swear really
and the right to sue when terms are violated
Silicon valley has grown into adolescence and just like a teenager it's throwing it's weight around to see what it can get away with.
silicon valley is not mature enough to offer a reliable financial system
Agrred it's the rich kid that never learnd the value of money.
The future is decentralisation.
yes
the future is the death of platorms
it's not a new platform
it's the death of platforms
I disagree. Aggregation it one of the most important things to the net.
you'll see
It's to vast not to have a place to meet.
it cost a fortune to put web 2.0 in place
it's too vast not to have MANY places to meet
I don't think we'll see the death of platforms but it's what *should* happen
I think we will
Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.
