You can't win against gamers
It stopped being small channel friendly a few years ago, but this will gut it even more. If your numbers don’t count ALL views, then it seriously messes up your ranking in the suggested algorithm.

Yeah...
But a lot of this stuff isn’t necessarily my fault either. It’s the algorithm. It punishes real news and promotes trash.
How long are your heavy journalism videos? I think the YouTube viewer attention span is maxed out at 10 minutes.

Well, I would tell everybody to rely on word-of-mouth and guest appearances on channels you're already subscribed to find new content, not the heavily-rigged YouTube trending algorithm.
