so at that time Germany had two separate currencies

later on, Hjalmar Schacht became a supporter of Adolf Hitler, and served in Hitler's government as President of the Reichsbank (1933–1939)

BTW the Rentenmark notes were valid until 1948.

In the Treaty of versalles, (((they))) agreed that Germany should pay for the WW1 with almost all its gold

that's what made their currency be unbacked and caused hyperinflation

that explains everything, I know they were fucked by the treaty, but I didn't know scraping their gold reserves was part of the equation
