Not really @Copernicus

2018-12-29 04:43:30 UTC

Hence, you don't want to be completely ignorant, because people will take advantage of you. But in order to gain knowledge and decrease your own ignorance quickly, you have to rely on others to fill you in on what you don't know and hope that they aren't deceiving you

2018-12-29 04:43:40 UTC

People are tricked when the person they trust actually acts very trustworthy first.

2018-12-29 04:44:10 UTC

Hey, none of us are immune to a good con artist's tricks. If you think you are, you aren't.

2018-12-29 04:44:27 UTC

You can't fully trust anyone since there is a potential for a genius trickster who does everything in a trustworthy manner until it's too late

2018-12-29 04:44:36 UTC

That's my point @Copernicus

2018-12-29 04:44:52 UTC

this man speaks truth

2018-12-29 04:45:00 UTC

But more like if you think you can trust someone, you're at a disadvantage

2018-12-29 04:45:08 UTC

However

2018-12-29 04:45:14 UTC

I'm not a paranoid wreck

2018-12-29 04:45:19 UTC

I do let my guard down

2018-12-29 04:45:22 UTC

I'm not sure what constitutes a good con artist.

2018-12-29 04:45:25 UTC

I have to think I can trust at least a subset of people, otherwise life is just too hard

2018-12-29 04:45:34 UTC

Hard

2018-12-29 04:45:40 UTC

I find it fun that way

2018-12-29 04:45:52 UTC

yeah, but the base operation should be distrust until proven otherwise.

2018-12-29 04:45:54 UTC

It makes sense from what I've seen

2018-12-29 04:46:03 UTC

Imagine being so distrusting that you started to doubt the calorie count on a nutrition label

2018-12-29 04:46:11 UTC

That's no way to live

2018-12-29 04:46:16 UTC

@!dammnation3(Liberalist) even then, proven otherwise doesn't mean they will always be trustworthy

2018-12-29 04:46:23 UTC

sure.

2018-12-29 04:46:30 UTC

@Copernicus but that happens

2018-12-29 04:46:40 UTC

Actually maybe it is the only way to live

2018-12-29 04:46:42 UTC

but what's it matter?

2018-12-29 04:46:46 UTC

but if the suddenly make a left turn from your previous interactions, not much you can do.

2018-12-29 04:46:53 UTC

just cut ties with that person

2018-12-29 04:46:59 UTC

fool me once shame on you.

2018-12-29 04:47:00 UTC

and usually the calorie counts are wrong, btw. As they are just averages.

2018-12-29 04:47:04 UTC

fool me twice, shame on me.

2018-12-29 04:47:21 UTC

@!dammnation3(Liberalist) but if they are brilliant, you don't have time to cut ties. They get close to you in order to stab you

2018-12-29 04:47:33 UTC

If they're just averages, that's fine; I'm gonna eat a large sample of whatever it is I'm buying

2018-12-29 04:47:45 UTC

This conversation is on par with world leaders being paranoid about their highest retainers

2018-12-29 04:47:51 UTC

humans are social creature.

2018-12-29 04:47:53 UTC

then you aren't worried too much about accuracy

2018-12-29 04:47:59 UTC

so, again, what's it matter?

2018-12-29 04:48:09 UTC

I'm willing to take the risk sometimes, to potentially get burnt

2018-12-29 04:48:14 UTC

Of course

2018-12-29 04:48:17 UTC

whether you believe in a thing or not, if it doesn't impact you, what's it matter?

2018-12-29 04:48:46 UTC

I know I am logical in saying I can't trust anyone truly to no end. But I actually am very generous in allowing people to prove to me if they are good or not.

2018-12-29 04:48:59 UTC

But that is in normal social interaction

2018-12-29 04:49:03 UTC

yeah, that's a great way to operate.
