do you though, have to trust others?
I'll delegate a lot of thinking to others because it's just easier that way
The only time it's in your interest to not trust someone is if they encourage you to act in a way that you already understand to be wrong
I don't trust anyone but I do have to act like it to accomplish tasks. If they are wrong and I fail due to their false info, I merely blame them or myself depending on the scenario but..
This is basic
Not really @Copernicus
Hence, you don't want to be completely ignorant, because people will take advantage of you. But in order to gain knowledge and decrease your own ignorance quickly, you have to rely on others to fill you in on what you don't know and hope that they aren't deceiving you
People are tricked when the person they trust actually acts very trustworthy first.
Hey, none of us are immune to a good con artist's tricks. If you think you are, you aren't.
You can't fully trust anyone since there is a potential for a genius trickster who does everything in a trustworthy manner until it's too late
That's my point @Copernicus
this man speaks truth
But more like if you think you can trust someone, you're at a disadvantage
However
I'm not a paranoid wreck
I do let my guard down
I'm not sure what constitutes a good con artist.
I have to think I can trust at least a subset of people, otherwise life is just too hard
Hard
yeah, but the base operation should be distrust until proven otherwise.
It makes sense from what I've seen
Imagine being so distrusting that you started to doubt the calorie count on a nutrition label
That's no way to live
@!dammnation3(Liberalist) even then, proven otherwise doesn't mean they will always be trustworthy
sure.
@Copernicus but that happens
Actually maybe it is the only way to live
but what's it matter?
but if the suddenly make a left turn from your previous interactions, not much you can do.
just cut ties with that person
fool me once shame on you.
and usually the calorie counts are wrong, btw. As they are just averages.
fool me twice, shame on me.
@!dammnation3(Liberalist) but if they are brilliant, you don't have time to cut ties. They get close to you in order to stab you
If they're just averages, that's fine; I'm gonna eat a large sample of whatever it is I'm buying
This conversation is on par with world leaders being paranoid about their highest retainers
humans are social creature.
then you aren't worried too much about accuracy
so, again, what's it matter?
