Aside from laziness, weed doesn't really have much of a negative effect on people
over a long time it does
higher risk of psychosis
About as much as any other over the counter medicine
and violent behaviour
Lol violent behavior?
You had me with psychosis, I could see that happening if you smoked every day for like a year
violently munching down a thing of nachos...
yes, as a result of the changes in the brain as a result of prolonged use
I'd have to see evidence fo that
of*
Stoners are stupid and lazy, but not violent lol
in the short term
but overall in the longterm
alcohol is worse in many ways
I think they are quite violent, if they don't have parents or government paying for their lifestyle
alcohol is the powerhouse of most domestic violence
Correlation over 50 years lol
come on man lol
I'll check the first to see if it has anyhting
i'm not sure about you, but if people become more violent over time, i don't see that as a good thing
generally people become naturally less violent over time
Definitely, but you can't use a 50 year correlation study to show that it points to weed
the study was over 50 years
not 50 years ago
"However, 20% of the boys who started using pot by age 18 continued to use it through middle age (32-48 years). One fifth of those who were pot smokers (22%) reported violent behavior that began after beginning to use cannabis, whereas only 0.3% reported violence before using weed. "
18 to 48
30 years w/e
if you ingest anything for that long it's going to have a negative effect lol
yes, but that doesn't make it desirable
i'm for decriminalising possession, not a user of any of that stuff
but even i can see that it's problem that it leads to
legalising will make it easier to deal with the anti social and criminal fallout more efficiently
I'll read the first study when I get back but that 2nd one doesn't seem reliable. How much did they smoke? How often? Did they choose smoking over their responsibilities? Did that build up over time and cause them regret?
Too many unknown factors, but yeah, too much of anything is definitely bad.
anyway thanks for the links dude. i always like reading up on that stuff
the biggest problem is that psychological side effects can be worse the younger the user is
and obvioiusly for how long they use it for etc.
