And he had forms like Frieza

Even Cell had forms but it was based on who he absorbed

Buu did too but only after his evil form

Anyway I am not in total disagreement but I personally liked Frieza and Cell over Buu

Plus lets get into the cynical side of things

as in why they chose villains for the franchise

Frieza's first form seemed interesting but people thought it was weird he was so short. But that is sorta why he seemed so haunting

then the producers said "maybe Frieza should have a second form"

so he basically turned into King Cold before King Cold was reveiled

a big version of Frieza

but wait it would make more sense if Piccolo was wished back and actually did something against the second form, right

so he does

Then he goes third form

The third form is basically Freiza as the alien from alien

Gohan goes apeshit and beats him up at least for a moment

Frieza goes final form, Goku comes back and beats him up a bit and it it seemingly over

His final form is basically his first form but more streamlined

less ridiculous, but still perplexing due to his short height

geez

All of this was decided based on marketing

Just like Cell

i leave for twenty mins and the spaghetti is everywhere

Cell had three forms just because the producers said "he looks too gross" for his first form

then Toriyama makes a second form and they say "he looks too dumb"

so he makes a third and final form that looks more human

just seems a lack of originality lately from japan creators doesn't it? both in anime and games

like the industry is in a slump but afraid to take risks creatively

isn't that kind of true about most entertainment industries these days?

the end of last year saw a huge slump for most tech/entertainment companies

but especailly the triumvirate of evil

well, the entertainment industry in my country is far to infected with trump derrangement syndrome and are foaming at the mouth with progressive cancer

not so much afraid but woke and going broke

i get the feeling that some of has to do with move away from older/traditional forms of media

the younger the cohort/demographic, the less influenced they are established media

so companies are losing their marbles trying to secure established IPs whilst also watering them down to appeal to a newer broader audience

and not just domestically

places like china are for the time being a huge untapped market

i think that is what is partly behind the rush to get out as many star wars movies as possible

well that's just one example
