i think it could be a mix

most customers will watch the ad and groan and keep buying what they've been buying for the last 5 years

like they see the negative reviews from far lefties and nothing to oppose that form customers and be like hmmm shit maybe if i cater to them and shame my customers, theyll stop shitting on us. then u end up pissing off ur actual customer base and it's little too late. but also a bit of these companies having far lefties on their board or marketing teams as well imo
