yep but you call something nothing

2019-02-03 06:00:17 UTC

We are literally using a name to refer to nothingness

2019-02-03 06:00:20 UTC

Hawaiian Juche FTW! 👌

2019-02-03 06:00:21 UTC

Fuck

2019-02-03 06:00:29 UTC

go into interstellar space where the number of atoms per cubic centimeter can go as low as 0.1, that's the closest thing to naturally ocuring nothingness

2019-02-03 06:00:51 UTC

even if wee agree on a definition of something and nothing

2019-02-03 06:01:00 UTC

Anyone who says nothing is something because we have a name for it is so fucked

2019-02-03 06:01:02 UTC

No offensr

2019-02-03 06:01:06 UTC

i could only agree that something cant come from nothing in this universe

2019-02-03 06:01:11 UTC

They are two different things man

2019-02-03 06:01:16 UTC

A name and a thing

2019-02-03 06:01:23 UTC

A name and matter

2019-02-03 06:01:32 UTC

I cant

2019-02-03 06:01:54 UTC

Here's the thing, I accept big bang because it is the hypothesis that matches the closest with the verified models in current science

2019-02-03 06:02:05 UTC

so could the big bang inadvertanly be proof of a form of creationism then?

2019-02-03 06:02:12 UTC

If there's an alternate theory that does so better, I'd be willing to accept it

2019-02-03 06:02:12 UTC

You know

2019-02-03 06:02:18 UTC

i have debated a lot the kalam

2019-02-03 06:02:30 UTC

so yeah i pretty much know what you are going for

2019-02-03 06:02:38 UTC

@Archon Not at all, since there is no intelligent design taking place

2019-02-03 06:02:56 UTC

yall talking religion or something?

2019-02-03 06:03:02 UTC

Dunno

2019-02-03 06:03:06 UTC

Phylosofy i guess

2019-02-03 06:03:21 UTC

We're trying to tolerate creationist arguments from a decade ago, yes

2019-02-03 06:03:32 UTC

anyway i think nothing is impossible tho absolute nothing

2019-02-03 06:03:57 UTC

even if you have a void, the void its not nothing

2019-02-03 06:04:15 UTC

Characterising it as "Something came from nothing" is like saying Evolution is "Monkeys became humans"

2019-02-03 06:04:23 UTC

Not really

2019-02-03 06:04:34 UTC

we know the second is false

2019-02-03 06:04:40 UTC

we dont know anything from the first one

2019-02-03 06:05:25 UTC

*something can't come from nothing, but my god can durr durrrr*

2019-02-03 06:05:32 UTC

is that the debate ?

2019-02-03 06:05:39 UTC

But it's a purposeful reductionist mischaracterising of the big bang theory

2019-02-03 06:05:47 UTC

he didnt said anything about god

2019-02-03 06:05:55 UTC

so yeah dont strawman him

2019-02-03 06:07:41 UTC

one of the most convincing models is that the big bang is a recurring event, through heat death time as a dimension becomes null, and thus no matter how spread out space was it gets reduced to a single point, then it expands again and so on

2019-02-03 06:08:08 UTC

i do preffer the multiverse theory tho

2019-02-03 06:08:39 UTC

i prefer theories that can be mathematically tested

2019-02-03 06:09:32 UTC

you can test the end and the begining of the recurring model tho?

2019-02-03 06:09:42 UTC

yes

2019-02-03 06:09:42 UTC

im pretty sure math breaks at some point
