For anyone who wants to get into any IT career because they like computers, here’s a word of advice; **DONT**

2018-11-17 17:02:59 UTC

oh

2018-11-17 17:03:05 UTC

?

2018-11-17 17:03:32 UTC

You will hate computers and want nothing to do with them after your first year or two

2018-11-17 17:03:53 UTC

now i have the big sad

2018-11-17 17:03:57 UTC

<O/ \O>

2018-11-17 17:03:58 UTC

I was hoping to get into it so I could hopefully learn how to sodder and deconstruct a computer and such to give me more experience in the work force.

2018-11-17 17:04:01 UTC

i did a corse in IT and it was just using to use word, eexcel, powerpoint etc

2018-11-17 17:04:05 UTC

that is the only thing im good at in school

2018-11-17 17:04:14 UTC

School was shite

2018-11-17 17:04:22 UTC

@Capitalist Space Bats that’s not IT

2018-11-17 17:04:28 UTC

But a nesscary shit

2018-11-17 17:04:44 UTC

That’s just electronics repair

2018-11-17 17:04:57 UTC

What’s IT then? I’m assuming basic debugging but Is there any sort of programming experience I could pick up from it?

2018-11-17 17:05:04 UTC

More and more jobs require college degree s

2018-11-17 17:06:24 UTC

Programming is also different

2018-11-17 17:06:29 UTC

Someone is playing Wolfmother and Bloodfeather. NVM that's the football game.

2018-11-17 17:07:44 UTC

What type of music do yall listen to?

2018-11-17 17:07:48 UTC

IT is almost entirely about finding and implementing information tech solutions for your usecase and supporting them to ensure your infrastructure doesn’t go tits up

2018-11-17 17:08:10 UTC

Like that phrase lol

2018-11-17 17:09:08 UTC

Unless you’re like an integration analyst, there’s no programming involved

2018-11-17 17:09:38 UTC

And unless you specialize ENTIRELY in hardware support, you’re never gonna be soldering

2018-11-17 17:10:15 UTC

You’re basically just a janitor but for computer systems.

2018-11-17 17:10:23 UTC

i have plans on fixing laptops for a living.

2018-11-17 17:10:53 UTC

Im not sure I understand all the terms.
Infermation tech I don’t quite get.
Infrastructure I don’t fully understand but as this isn’t headwear it assuming it involves the computers ability to run.
Usecase I’m assuming means for the individual case I’m being given.

Would you be able to clarify a bit further?

2018-11-17 17:11:01 UTC

That’s the best way I’ve heard it explained in a while @Data Pagan

2018-11-17 17:11:31 UTC

The janitor has to fix a toilet when it overflows, the sysadmin has to fix the quickbooks server when the company files get corrupted

2018-11-17 17:11:46 UTC

Fucking

2018-11-17 17:11:51 UTC

**google**

2018-11-17 17:12:02 UTC

Ah so data recovery for the most part

2018-11-17 17:12:06 UTC

No

2018-11-17 17:12:15 UTC

I remember wanting to be in IT then I learned what they do for the most part

2018-11-17 17:12:15 UTC

That was just an example

2018-11-17 17:13:40 UTC

Oh

2018-11-17 17:14:40 UTC

If you have plans to enter a field but can’t be bothered to research what it actually entails then I suggest you find a different career path.

2018-11-17 17:15:03 UTC

Yeah sorry about the obvious questions for some reason I seem to have fallen into the habit of asking them on places like this first. I don’t know why I think I just like the more organic feedback.

2018-11-17 17:15:10 UTC

i love how saudi arabia is getting raped

2018-11-17 17:15:11 UTC

That’s why I’m not in that career path

2018-11-17 17:15:17 UTC

its a dream come true

2018-11-17 17:15:28 UTC

way behind on the conversation, but data i had a hard time finding a job, but that was mostly due to my classes being a large portion of time

2018-11-17 17:15:43 UTC

but i have a reason
