So why does it get colder at night and warmer during the day

Many billions of stars are like the Sun actually

The same reason it gets cold when you don't have something warming you up the source of said warmth is far removed from you

But because the earth rotates

It’s out of the suns light

And Gas expands to fit the shape of its container. Space is not a container it's a space so gas has nowhere to expand

If the earth was flat there would be daylight all day and no seasons

Those other stars are millions of light years away from us

Also the Sun is only 150 Million km away not billions

They dont illuminate us as brightly because they're so fat
