The Blue Marble name does hold some significance as it's an official name given to an "official" image of the earth.

what I find amazing, from going thru as many articles as I could find from nasa to havard to mit, there is litterally 10 different proposed shapes of the earth, flat, ball. oblique, donut shape, inverted circle, including shaped like a pear...something is clearly wrong if after all this time, not even the science folks agree on the size or shape...
for me, at this point I will go with the acient texts and say its flat, I'll change my mind when some one shows me a photo from deep space of folks walking upside down on the other side of the world, till then I think I am being lied to not just about the shape of earth but a great many things as well

thats clearly enough distance...acording to science If you could travel significant fractions of the distance to the nearest stars then you would start to see some changes in the star in the skys...so we acording to science have clearly move more than enough distance thru space, yet the stars remain in same exact spots, this alone shows the earth is not moving...

What really tipped the scales for me, is the fact that the formula for the curvature of the earth....is wrong it dont work, a group of brizillian scientist spent 7 years on this one aspect alone, does the cruve formula work, they proved with clear and repeatable experiments, the curve formula is wrong....so theres that as well
