Also you know what is interesting? How a lot of other space agencies do the same thing with their images. All different and shown to be reality to their nations but NASA's images are most well known

Specifically, they admit that they're composites, made of a bunch of smaller images.

But we still have whole images
Not all of them are composites

I didn't realize at first but they basically took the 2002 version, which was data retrieved from MODIS, and added newer satellite information to it

Not just images, but information and I assume a lot of guessing

It's edited to highlight different aspects of the earth I'm pretty sure

Through color filters

Film provides much higher resolution than digital imaging

not the same thing as taking small images of parts of earth and combining

these color filter images are still images of the entire eartj
