like a mirage

ive also seen some that just flat out say it doesnt happen but those ones are kinda dumb

though the mirage theory doesnt make sense

air above the ocean is typically less dense due to warm water vapor evaporating from the water heating it up

and if that's the case the boat should appear above the horizon

the air would need to be colder close to the ocean for the boat to appear to sink
