@knoxfairly you criticized what I said yesterday, starting with “@RadRhys this doesn't prove light bending around a curve? It IS what IS bending and curving. Not what is bending and curving around something 🤔🤔...”

The light is bending around a metal ball in the way. That is undeniable, the light curved around an object that would obstruct its path had it been pointed straight at the destination (not that it’d even hit in a straight line because of the refraction).

Can I have permission to send images?

2020-02-28 15:55:27 UTC

1 mile=~1.6km

2020-02-28 15:56:17 UTC

I already addressed the refraction possibility and the fact that part of the rigs aren’t visible from lower.

2020-02-28 15:56:30 UTC

You can see stuff very very far away even past the horizon, as long as it's tall enough. To am extent of course

2020-02-28 15:56:49 UTC

the point is, the horizon could never be BEHIND the rigs. it would absolutely have to be in front

2020-02-28 15:56:53 UTC

simple geometry

2020-02-28 15:57:03 UTC

If it were flat, the land wouldn’t be occluded either, and the rigs would appear higher compared to the 35ft comparison

2020-02-28 15:57:14 UTC

You can easily see a 1947.93km tall tower from 5351.89km away
