It's really an English phenomenon to have just one word for love and even the word love in the Bible is generally a translation of the word Agape

which is but one of the words for love in Greek

That is the universal, egoless love of charity

There was actually different translations and uses in the Bible

Not all were considered "agape" from what I've heard

It was written in quite a few different languages so that doesn't surprise me
