2019-01-31 17:14:06 UTC

doubt

2019-01-31 17:14:30 UTC

it's legit tho

2019-01-31 17:15:06 UTC

ill stick to my normal process lol, lose too much shadow definition based off of that image

2019-01-31 17:16:02 UTC

ah right, no it isnt better compression, its just a format for multi-images, nested transforms and derived images

2019-01-31 17:16:20 UTC

@BotBot Interesting, but with that it is basically "comply or get the yeet" cause unlike the west, china is a big scary presence

2019-01-31 17:16:35 UTC

are they dropping out colour ranges to conserve size maybe?

2019-01-31 17:16:56 UTC

idk how it works

2019-01-31 17:17:23 UTC

i've just found when i take photos in HEIC they're like half the size with no perceivable quality loss

2019-01-31 17:17:32 UTC

it doesnt work well enough for me based off samples comparing shots

2019-01-31 17:17:38 UTC

Yeah it looks like there are bits of colors "unified" as opposed to jpeg where it is more artifacty

2019-01-31 17:17:52 UTC

well there isnt like a single type of jpg format

2019-01-31 17:17:59 UTC

What about android photo quality?

2019-01-31 17:18:04 UTC

lmao

2019-01-31 17:18:20 UTC

yeah true on the one with multiple jpegs there is a lot of variance

2019-01-31 17:18:29 UTC

@BotBot Not really surprised tho lmfao "Apple is so much safer" can suck my dick

2019-01-31 17:18:32 UTC

I like linex photos

2019-01-31 17:18:34 UTC

essentially with some jpg formats its like literally impossible to reduce the filesize

2019-01-31 17:19:00 UTC

it's more private if you're into that @Mango

2019-01-31 17:19:44 UTC

dont start that shit again

2019-01-31 17:20:18 UTC

@Mango It... is?

2019-01-31 17:20:28 UTC

The problem there is china

2019-01-31 17:20:36 UTC

lmao

2019-01-31 17:20:36 UTC

you can crack android but not apple

2019-01-31 17:20:54 UTC

lol sure

2019-01-31 17:21:12 UTC

im a fan of going from the raw files and playing with it all in post process, finding the best balance of quality and filesize, just seems more natural seeing as i usually edit anyway.

2019-01-31 17:21:27 UTC

That is not exactly a thing though, a well enough encrypted phone of any type can't be cracked @TBORIOT

2019-01-31 17:21:57 UTC

ok ill fix my comment then its harder to crack an iphone than an android

2019-01-31 17:22:14 UTC

Again, not really.

2019-01-31 17:22:16 UTC

again not really

2019-01-31 17:22:56 UTC

does android do full disk encryption by default yet? i remember it's had it for ages but when i did it i had to go into settings and wait for ages

2019-01-31 17:23:21 UTC

my motorola did it by default

2019-01-31 17:23:24 UTC

z2 play

2019-01-31 17:23:42 UTC

i think its phone dependent

2019-01-31 17:23:52 UTC

:\
