My PC, tools, electronic crap and clothes would not fit in normal carry luggage though

2018-04-28 20:55:39 UTC

"about 80K" Normal there?

2018-04-28 20:55:46 UTC

For an apartment ur good

2018-04-28 20:55:50 UTC

a house

2018-04-28 20:55:54 UTC

you wont be able to get

2018-04-28 20:55:59 UTC

lol

2018-04-28 20:56:16 UTC

And we use brick houses that take years to build

2018-04-28 20:56:17 UTC

You also dont pay for a whole house at once, 80k is more than enough for a down payment on any reasonably sized home

2018-04-28 20:56:25 UTC

yeh

2018-04-28 20:56:51 UTC

and an apartment is like 3k a month

2018-04-28 20:57:02 UTC

"a house
you wont be able to get"

I'm assuming by house you mean one of those wooden jokes?

2018-04-28 20:57:26 UTC

Only if you live in a coastal city that treats USD like monopoly money

2018-04-28 20:57:44 UTC

this is what I mean by a house

2018-04-28 20:57:47 UTC

$1500 a month anywhere else is going to be a pretty decent apartment

2018-04-28 20:58:36 UTC

Country side is generally the best for houses

2018-04-28 20:58:56 UTC

Places near the coast, like seattle, san francisco and florida cost way much more than a countryside house

2018-04-28 20:59:04 UTC

"and an apartment is like 3k a month" Crap. Here that amount is like rent in a mansion.
8k ZAR is decent rent for a 3 bedroom, double garage, 2 bathroom brick house with a pool and half acre garden.

2018-04-28 20:59:15 UTC

Even a moderately sized city inland has more sane rent

2018-04-28 20:59:26 UTC

An apartment for 3k a month isnt the norm, Elbow

2018-04-28 20:59:28 UTC

@Donaldus Triumphus That would be cheap here

2018-04-28 20:59:43 UTC

that pic I mean

2018-04-28 21:00:06 UTC

Partly because it would only last a few years

2018-04-28 21:00:10 UTC

depends where the house is located

2018-04-28 21:00:18 UTC

Insects would eat it quickly

2018-04-28 21:00:32 UTC

if that was in the suburbs of seattle it would be like 600k

2018-04-28 21:01:00 UTC

A house like that in America was probably built a few decades ago and will last quite a few more decades as long as its taken care of properly

2018-04-28 21:01:07 UTC

Your salaries must be much higher than here then

2018-04-28 21:01:15 UTC

I mean probablly

2018-04-28 21:01:21 UTC

Its US compared to Africa

2018-04-28 21:01:49 UTC

Our salaries are higher nationally but 600k is also at least double what that house is actually worth

2018-04-28 21:02:00 UTC

yeh

2018-04-28 21:02:14 UTC

@Ben Garrison "A house like that in America was probably built a few decades ago and will last quite a few more decades as long as its taken care of properly"
Same thing here wouldn't last 10 years if it is taken care of **VERY** well.

2018-04-28 21:02:22 UTC

hmm

2018-04-28 21:02:46 UTC

its so high simply because the location and most of the suburbs are slowly becoming modern houses, townhomes and condos

2018-04-28 21:02:58 UTC

Yeah exactly

2018-04-28 21:02:59 UTC

I mean my last salary was 5k ZAR. Starting salary for an IT technician

2018-04-28 21:03:19 UTC

So you see why your numbers surprise me

2018-04-28 21:03:37 UTC

5k ZAR/month?

2018-04-28 21:03:42 UTC

yes

2018-04-28 21:03:59 UTC

For the same job you'd probably be making 4-5k USD/month here

2018-04-28 21:04:09 UTC

lol
