Because im a traditional free market conservative, not the MAGA populist/Bernie side of the conservative movement
My name is GodEmperorTrump, i'm pretty sure i'm no Bernie lover or socialist
You may not, but some of things you advocate for are socialist ideals
whether you see it or not
you think Trump's farmer bailout is good?
you sound like an old guard Republican that cant graps the concepts of Trump libertarianism, like a Paul Ryan
Ehhh wouldn't go that far
I think the Trump farmer bailout was good, i like to see our markets prosper
Oh, so then you like the New Deal huh
it wasnt even a bailout though
Cause that's EXACTLY what FDR did
lol
Trump is more FDR than anything
Trump is Trump
He's certainly looking like FDR/Bernie on trade thats for damn sure
Bernie hasnt been president
has never done a thing with trade
🤦
and nobody was alive during FDR times, stop trying to compare things
Tell me what a President Bernie wouldn't have done on Trade that Trump hasn't done already
Not Ryan, but I do like Ben yes
dear god, BEN globalist shill
hahahahahahahaa
nevertrumper
You make that seem like it's an insult lol
it should be
Given the stupid shit Trump has done lately, it really isnt
Stephen you are a gentlemen and a scholar sir, You certainly know some things. Lets continue this another time. I must return to work.
Uh huh ok
In other words
"Tariffs Not Only Impose Immense Economic Costs but Also Fail to Achieve Their Primary Policy Aims and Foster Political Dysfunction Along the Way"
every other country in the world does it to us, they do it for the obvious benefits.
Trump’s threatened tariffs are meant to effect change in China, not — as is often the case with tariffs — to protect U.S. industries that know how to throw their weight around politically.
Many free-traders will see these tariffs as yet another in a long line of counterproductive moves by the president. There could be some truth to that reasoning. But the tariffs also reflect a growing belief among U.S. business leaders that a laissez-faire approach simply isn’t working.
You have to look at the good and bad, yes its bad in the short run, but the long run it can help protect industry
@FriarPop They've gotten richer BECAUSE they lowered their tariffs DRAMATICALLY over the years to historic lows
They didn't get wealthy because of higher tariffs, but because of lowering it
China has cut its average tariff by nearly 90 percent since the 1990s, from a very high 32.2% to 3.5% and during that period, their economy thrived
If Trump wants other nations to get rid of their tariffs altogether, then fine, but launching unnecessary trade wars with our allies and harming consumers and workers in the process when this can simply be resolved through talks is hilariously stupid
