In 2016, Texas came the closest to voting blue since 1996

2019-03-13 22:57:09 UTC

Despite Trump winning the election

2019-03-13 22:57:14 UTC

I think Larry Hogan would trash anyone

2019-03-13 22:57:30 UTC

yeah it would be very difficult to mount a campaign against him

2019-03-13 22:57:35 UTC

all those swing states are his

2019-03-13 22:57:37 UTC

Who is Harry Logan?

2019-03-13 22:57:43 UTC

current maryland governor

2019-03-13 22:57:45 UTC

Larry Hogan would win Maryland

2019-03-13 22:57:58 UTC

I think anyway

2019-03-13 22:58:02 UTC

He is highly approved on Democrats

2019-03-13 22:58:49 UTC

Rick Snyder would be great for Dems if he ran

2019-03-13 22:59:28 UTC

Everybody in Michigan would vote blue

2019-03-13 23:00:03 UTC

Despite the fact that Democrats outnumber Republicans 2–1 in Maryland and Hogan has had some friction with the state's Democratic legislature, Hogan has enjoyed high approval ratings and is popular even among Democrats. A March 2016 Gonzales Poll showed Hogan held a 71% approval rating. A Washington Post-University of Maryland poll in April 2016 showed Hogan with a 66% approval rating. Hogan's favorable numbers were attributed to the improving economy in the state and Hogan's decision to govern "as a moderate, focusing on taxes and other pocketbook issues while avoiding polarizing social topics such as abortion or religious-objection laws." By November 2017, Hogan had one of the highest approval ratings of any governor in the country. A June 2018 poll showed that Hogan had a 60% approval rating among Democrats.

2019-03-13 23:00:29 UTC

Oh

2019-03-13 23:00:31 UTC

Yep

2019-03-13 23:00:34 UTC

He would do good

2019-03-13 23:02:20 UTC

i feel as though hogan is one of the few republicans who could turn DC red

2019-03-13 23:02:37 UTC

very unlikely but he has the best chance

2019-03-13 23:03:01 UTC

That would mean he would win everything

2019-03-13 23:03:32 UTC

maybe I was attributing his DC win due to location proximity

2019-03-13 23:03:45 UTC

Still pretty hard

2019-03-13 23:03:47 UTC

Trump is from New York

2019-03-13 23:03:51 UTC

He lost it badly

2019-03-13 23:03:54 UTC

Clinton won Trump 200k votes to 12k

2019-03-13 23:03:56 UTC

it's different for DC

2019-03-13 23:04:00 UTC

because it's a district

2019-03-13 23:04:24 UTC

that's the only reason

2019-03-13 23:04:26 UTC

I suggest you watch the election night video I sent

2019-03-13 23:04:37 UTC

I wouldn't say he would win virginia based off location alone

2019-03-13 23:05:02 UTC

Virginia isnt that blue

2019-03-13 23:05:08 UTC

1.9M to 1.7M in 2016

2019-03-13 23:05:25 UTC

yeah but that gap is widening

2019-03-13 23:05:37 UTC

Joe Manchin has a similar situation tho

2019-03-13 23:05:51 UTC

Both Parties in his state approve of him

2019-03-13 23:06:07 UTC

I'd rather a younger canidate

2019-03-13 23:06:14 UTC

I hate seeing all these 70 year olds run

2019-03-13 23:06:34 UTC

It shocks me that West Virginia voted in a Democratic Governor in 2016

2019-03-13 23:06:45 UTC

And currently has a Democratic senator

2019-03-13 23:07:21 UTC

Joe Manchin is a Democrat I like.

2019-03-13 23:07:35 UTC

Wouldn't mind a Republican candidate losing to him
