I've been shitting for 15 years. Not as much as some but a decent amount. I've had to use my toilet paper about 5 times that I can remember. And each time it was a situation where a hand wipe or smacking my ass would have done the same thing.
I can shave the profile of my toilet paper holder, and moving my hand just a litttttle bit more without the toilet paper
I don't see how it would make a noticable difference if you're right handed
