what firearms do you have? if you have an ar-15 and a pistol. i would suggest starting with a belt kit so you can carry your pistol holster and some mags for both of your guns.

if you would like a plate carrier more or first then you should look into the crye JPC or SPC because they are very high quality without being very expensive and they are great platforms to start building on.
