Well you see parties such as socialists, communists, and even the national socialists they don't have any platforms to back on. People such as rightwing libertarians, old fashion liberals they are Republican. Overtime the Republican party has actually morphed into the old Democratic party, while maintaining the same aspects as the old Republican party. Nowadays the current Democratic party is tremendously different than what it used to be. Basically there aren't too many options around, since 3rd parties are too small to go noticed. This of course results in the big parties, Republican and Democrat being used as platforms for other kinds of people, including socialists, communists and national socialists. Of course they themselves may not be considered a Democrat or a Republican, but I damn well assure you the party is being used as a platform
