@overrated Nice to see some traditional stuff for once. Are those acrylics with a dash of oil crayons? Hard to tell precise medium by a picture and I'm curious
*Or maybe I am just seeing some still wet paint*
Its actually watercolor with gouache
Ohhh I've never used gouache
mostly cause lil more expensive
Its white gouache
For highlights and stuff?
Titanium white
For mixing thicker paint and for highlights yes
Ah that's nice
I'd like to get back into painting when I have my own space again
If you search up nathan fowkes you can get a better understanding of it
And james gurney
Been stuck with digital art since I really only have the space of my bed and the cupboards above, not enough room for anything traditional except a few sketchbooks and pens.
oooh I see. The latter sounds familiar for some reason
For digital search up marco bucci
Hes good with dogital teaching
His stuff is pretty cute
I'm a sucker for fantasy
Ya his stuff has a very art renisance look
He's one of the main artists behind labyrinth/dark crystal
But everything starts with drawing
He made the puppets and stuff for those
I love pen work tbh
Really he did dark crystal?
Thats cool
Richard A. Kirk is another favorite, illustrated one of my favorite b ooks
Yeah, Jim Henson gets a lot of credit but the style was mostly driven by Froud
I like Henson too though
Pen is still drawing
ya I know
I like doing pen drawings with no pencils
It can be close to painting tho
Have to get creative with mistakes
I should draw more often tbh, off of digital
I feel like I learn more when drawing on paper
Honestly learn perspective and drawing boxes helped alot
Perspective is fun. I'm pretty good with it on forms but I need work on my landscapes/backgrounds
