It’s an imaginary number yes?
"i" is yes
i = Square-root(**-1**)?
yessir
Ah, looks like my curiosity on learning scrödingers equation paid off a bit
Though I’ve forgotten a bit about it
-^-
I like to learn hard stuff for fun and to know more, pretty much like learning.
same here
Also, what’s j and k, are those like a unit of coordinates?
i hated math in grade school but once i hit grade 11 it was amazing
theyre planes in a sence
think on how you have the real number line such as "1, 2, 3
Mhm
the you have the complex plain which is perpendicular to the reals
these are all multiplied by i
they are a real number multiplied by the imaginary "i" so "i 2i, 3i, " so on
these are 2D numbers
Ohhh
Looking at it graphically as you’re saying that, makes more sense now
precisely that yes
And then the reals are also multiplied by k?
this is where is gets philosophical
Ah
Philosophical in what sense?
so i just said that i s perpendicular to the reals right
Mhm
and j is perpendicular to that like a 3D plane
so k is perpendicular to those aswell
And thus becomes 4D?
i, j, and k are all perpendicular to the real number line
but yet i,j,k are perpendicular to eachother
and the reals are the origin point
yes
if you watch through that video it will do a better job explaining it than i could
1. because you can see it
and 2. im no mathematician
Fair enough lol, but taking it from a basic level like a 10 year old learning something is useful.
yeah i think they interesting, ive though of going into math in college but i dont know if i could handle it
i hope i didnt hurt your head too much lmao
