I mean we’re already a few years in
Elder Scrolls 6 is taking a long time.
I worry about Bethesda games in the future tbh
like the last few years
But i think fallout 5 will take another 5 years at least
its been fuck up after fuck up
And it will still be on the same engine
Tbh yes
Fuck Bethesda cause they have me by the balls with some of their games
the engine Bethesda uses isnt actually the reason the games are shit btw
an engine is really just a set of tools
How old is creation engine now?
But they do work with that shit engine
Like 7 years
its the way that Bethesda has stuck everything together
Fallout is basically scrolls
You do the same shit
like the physics in the games is buggy because Bethesda didnt program it into the engine properly
Fetch quests but in a different universe
Yup
Yeah me too
But it would have been so much better if obsidian just kept fallout
Yeah
It would’ve
They did so much better with it
I’m basically just playing out old games now
I felt bad about how Bethesda did Obsidian dirty with New Vegas because it scored, what, 0.1 less than the targeted goal on Metacritic?
After fallout new Vegas I’m doing GTA 3, vice city, then San Andreas
So, Bethesda didn't pay Obsidian the bonus for reaching a specific Metacritic score.
<new games

Hehe
Playing far cry 3 rn
Fallout 76 failed massively in part due to the engine but not bc of its flaws necessarily, the great thing about the Creation Engine is how moddable it is, and thats how Bethesda wanted it, but games like that dont work for the style of game Bethesda had in mind...if they'd tried to make smth closer to ARK it may have worked cus u could've had heavily modded servers etc but they didnt and they left the engine so open to change that hackers had a fucking field day with it
^
I was fucking eleven or 10 when far cry 3 came out
I feel old now
Personally, I think part of the problem is that Bethesda games are nothing without the modding community, and those kinds of mods just can't exist in an online game without giving an unfair advantage to whomever has them.
These issues would likely all have been fixed by the community if modding were possible.
Fallout, not something I know of
