Discourse not so much. It requires you to basically stream it from a core site. If they decide to take it down, you are done.
Does discourse has self hosting option?
Then again, you'd need to be pretty competent to hack Discourse because it's compiled software.
You basically create a clone of it on a cloud server
You could self host discourse even on a local computer
Possibly, but my web connection isn't as stable as I'd like
I meant local hosting it for testing purposes
And then if it satisfies the needs, we can migrate it to the bluehost server.
It is decent enough forum software.
I think it's the easiest to set up
I'm wondering if we need a forum though. Forums are slightly old tech now. I'm wondering if Voats might be a good replacement
Along side the discord server, it might be overkill
Yeh, I support that.
Forums are getting old school
We do actually have a forum on the site, but nobody uses it
Reddit style software seems to work better.
Yes
It's crappy, but it's there
:p
?
It's a plug-in
Let's you use a wordpress account, in theory
Bbpress
Okay, which is the new forum site you have plans for
A divorce based one?
That would be something I host and set up, but I'm not going to run it. I don't have the time.
I do want to help, but I'm never getting married so it's not something I really can help people with
I will do the admin backend stuff
Mybb might be ideal for it
But we do have the discord server, so I'm wondering if we need it
We need to think about it
Limiting it to just divorce might be just too much specialization.
Maybe. I have offered to make the forum on men are human where it would be easier to have it as a sub-catagory
I'm willing to dedicate resources to this, but I need to know they will be used
More important may be an FAQ site
Like I said earlier, a list of quick answers.
A faq is a good idea
We will need recruits on this - I'm not capable of writing any of the materials
Like when in normal subs, when it has anything to do with men's problems, feminists will start to ping r/menslib and glosses over how they make her panties wet.
We need an answer ready whenever someone pings menslib
