Not if you hold that goodness is distinct from God's essence, or subjetive to God.
What does that even mean? "God's essence"
God Himself.
God is the ultimate arbiter. Unless He is silent on morality (which effectively means no morality for mankind because anything can be moral or immoral if people come to a consensus) then how can that be the case?
You'd have to be a Deist to believe that
God's commands must be good because they derive from Him (goodness in itself).
If you believe that something is good or evil only because God commanded it (not because it is essential in Him to do so) then it is subjective to God.
I think that youre confusing the meaning of subjectivity. Whether there is a consunsus or not is irrelevant. The existence of flat earthers wouldnt make earth's shape subjetive.
Subjective to God — What's the implication of this? God created everything, even the concepts of objectivity and subjectivity.
What? Objective truths are facts that are true no matter our opinion of them.
If morality is subjective to God, then His moral judgements are as legitimate as my moral judgements. Moreover, God could make anything right or wrong arbitrarily, and there is no reason to think that God cannot do evil things if goodness is not essential in Him.
That doesn't even make sense. God can make anything as He wishes it to be and He has power over all things — God being able to decide things on a whim does not negate their truth-value or make His judgements non-binding upon us
so basically claiming god created the concept of morality itself
This would also imply you don't believe God is truthful, since he asserts what is moral and immoral as all religions believe, but what you're suggesting is that God is nothing more than a liar
اعوذ بالله
Theologically this opens up so many ridiculous possibilities
The Shi’a dies in rage as he sees this
