2018-11-17 02:35:15 UTC

@Will Dee Emily your posts are mad

2018-11-17 02:43:56 UTC

Is that a bad or good thing @PanIslamArab ?

2018-11-17 02:44:13 UTC

🤔

2018-11-17 02:44:59 UTC

In Australia, we use "mad" to mean "cool" or "really good"

2018-11-17 02:45:34 UTC

ahh

2018-11-17 02:45:46 UTC

As in "Bro, that food was mad!"

2018-11-17 02:46:31 UTC

thanks :p that's not really used in the US so through me off

2018-11-17 02:46:54 UTC

That's my fault, sorry.

2018-11-17 02:46:59 UTC

I've heard mad but in a different way

2018-11-17 02:47:13 UTC

Like "Bro, that food was mad delicious"

2018-11-17 02:47:23 UTC

(US)

2018-11-17 02:47:42 UTC

nah nah good to learn, I know a few Aussie's so easier to talk with 'em if I know the slang

2018-11-17 02:48:05 UTC

yeah mad can be used to mean really/extremely

2018-11-17 02:49:20 UTC

I see. That's not really used here. We'd just say "mad" without adding anything to it. Instead of "mad delicious," we'd say "heaps good" or "heaps delicious."

2018-11-17 02:49:56 UTC

Yeah I haven't heard heaps used over here

2018-11-17 02:49:56 UTC

But that's really Anglo sounding, if you get me

2018-11-17 02:50:07 UTC

don't think heaps is slang tho

2018-11-17 02:50:11 UTC

Arabs would never say "heaps"

2018-11-17 02:50:18 UTC

It's the way it's used

2018-11-17 02:50:32 UTC

I use heaps all the time lol

2018-11-17 02:50:49 UTC

Do you say "heaps good"?

2018-11-17 02:50:51 UTC

Actually I think the only time I've heard "heaps" is pretty much exclusively referring to a heap or heaps of laundry

2018-11-17 02:51:00 UTC

But not in conversation with friends

2018-11-17 02:51:08 UTC

Yeah

2018-11-17 02:51:37 UTC

not really that phrase more like that's heaps off (item like cats)

2018-11-17 02:51:54 UTC

heaps of food, etc..

2018-11-17 02:52:04 UTC

Oh

2018-11-17 02:52:12 UTC

Yeah that's pretty normal usage then
