Basically, if the tax treaty didn't exempt my first 100k made overseas per year in Sweden, I'd be getting my rate of taxes from the U.S on top of the 30% I already have here

So it'd be between 47-50%

But, I also shouldn't praise Clinton too much. This wouldn't be an issue if Obama didn't make FATCA.

We're the only country in the world to charge overseas income for tax purposes, it's blatant theft.

Best part, I believe (though I may be wrong,) if you don't pay your exit tax equivalent of 10 years wage tax (which you don't have to as you're no longer a citizen at that point,) the U.S does not record you as giving up your citizenship

So the number reported is far lower than the actual amount of people who just say fuck it and revoke their citizenship
