2020-02-23 19:27:50 UTC

Propranolol is nice tho seriously

2020-02-23 19:29:23 UTC

Better article

2020-02-23 19:30:08 UTC

The concept here is that the beta-blocker, when given with a brief therapist-led reactivation of a fear memory, blocks beta-adrenergic receptors in the brain so as to interfere with the specific proteins required for reconsolidation of that memory, thereby disrupting the reconsolidation process and neutralizing subsequent expression of that memory in its toxic form.

2020-02-23 19:30:36 UTC

This is already probably used as a cia mindwipe drug

2020-02-23 19:30:40 UTC

Basically every time you access a memory your brain has to rewrite it.

2020-02-23 19:31:34 UTC

Propranolol blocks the ability to write traumatic memories to amygdala so you take the drug, remember the painful memories, then your brain rewrites then with less emotional intensity

2020-02-23 19:31:52 UTC

The technical term is reconsolidation

2020-02-23 19:32:17 UTC

I did this to forget my last job

2020-02-23 19:32:34 UTC

become cia

2020-02-23 19:32:49 UTC

i had a job once

2020-02-23 19:32:57 UTC

You don’t forget things you just remember them in a way that’s less emotionally laden

2020-02-23 19:33:16 UTC

More detached

2020-02-23 19:33:25 UTC

Jobs are nice sometimes

2020-02-23 19:33:47 UTC
