another aspect of greek that i forgot
that is missing in modern pronunciation is the "ph" sound
which is generally pronounced as "f"
but in classical greek it was a breathy "p"
this character
φ
it was not "f"
it was more like a modern english "p"
because english "p" is pronounced withsome breath
like p-ha
I kinda get it
I don't like it though <:ahem:639979147782914084>
so phi vs pi, chi vs kappa, and theta vs tau
Ancient greeks had no f
How did they pay respects <:ahem:639979147782914084>
