Long story short, the original virus's envelope wouldn't have remained intact if this was a natural mutation. However, this coronavirus still has the original's outer envelope, indicating it was tampered with.
Pretty sure the Chinese doctor leaks are more telling, so disregard the current 1k infection figure that's being thrown around. It's harder to tell how many are actually dead and whether that's more the fault of the virus or China's lacking infrastructure.
