not necesarily
the book details armored knights up to almost its end
But I do see one with a pistol of some sort
so they have been used into the 1800s
So its gotta be late enough for cavalry flintlocks to be a thing
yep
pre ww1, past the 30year war
Yeah, most likely 1600s
Also check out that niggas HAT
You don't get hats that flamboyant past 1700
no no no
way later
id say mid 1700s
Why's that?
1750-1800 was my guess
well the german cavalry was very flamboyant even into the german danish wars
so thats not a real indicator
Well I mean
Pimp hats are flamboyant
however the hat looks very late 1700s in design
I guess I'm looking at it from too much of an English point of view
We had those hats in the civil war
But not really after
it looks like a bunch of kürassiere actualy, or at least an earlier form of them
the cavalryman to the centerleft
Fuck I actually understand that word
in particular
That seems to be a german derivation of the French word Cuirassier, which we English use because we're lazy
The chestplate, Cuirass
yes thats where it comes from
gimme a sec
: D I'm smart
i have an image of those somewhere
But we've still not actually acomplished much <:sadtard:556699705153945620>
Imma go to bed
Let me know if there's any updates
okay so the guy on the center left is defenitly a prussian cuirassier
infact that exact armor they still used in 1870
Hmm, so it might be contemporary to the painter then?
wait, I said I was going to bed
