Rimlock is inherent to a box magazine fed rifle using a Rimfire Cartridge, how does older ammo change the issue, is the rim less square?

The Garand's issue isn't feeding due to Cartridge shape it's pressure, that doesn't make any sense as a comparison

How, mechanically, does "correct" 303 solve rimlock

the rim is beveled so that rounds slide over each other when inserted, and the internal geometry of the magazine is set up to allow and encourage this

Correct use of stripper clips with proper ammo = no rimlock

Yeah, I haven't done anything with any surp 303, just modern FMJs, so that makes sense

The beveling might also help with the cartridges slipping over each other on me as I load the clip

Usually by hand, out of the rifle, when I use strippers I have issues, but yeah, the Lee strippers look like they are all leaning towards the top Cartridge if done right

Btw, does Wolf use an undersized bullet or something in their 303? Every round of theirs I put through it keyholes, but PPU works fine

One is strait, the next has it's rim under it, and so on

This is doctrine

And it’s what works for me

It’s how they’re meant to be loaded

you’re having issues because you’re, well, doing it wrong

Seems like that would cause every other Cartridge to lock

I’ve only ever had rimlock with federal soft points

Surplus ammo worked great, as did some prvi

It has some problems in the Ross rifle which doesn't use stripper clips for reasons
