The ones you posted are "Inferno" pistols, essentially the Pistol variant of the Melta

2018-11-27 04:03:12 UTC

@Magos Squid "The Life Raft" I got u fam. A hand-flamer is pretty piss-easy, you can run a tube up your sleeve to a napalm reservoir rather than pressurizing a can of fuel, and then dress up a propane tank as the fuel can to run your burner.

2018-11-27 04:03:26 UTC

Now the only problem is range

2018-11-27 04:03:33 UTC

What are you looking for?

2018-11-27 04:03:47 UTC

Assuming we're using something close to napalm

2018-11-27 04:05:31 UTC

Thankfully we can use the bulk of the pistol for a pressurizing pump

2018-11-27 04:06:06 UTC

Probably something CO2 based since that'd cool, compress, and be easily replaced on the fly while staying relatively compact.

2018-11-27 04:08:31 UTC

~~Flamers are 8", which is like 2/3 of effective pistol range~~

2018-11-27 04:11:50 UTC

Hmmm, effective pistol range

2018-11-27 04:11:54 UTC

25 yards

2018-11-27 04:11:56 UTC

or so

2018-11-27 04:12:17 UTC

That's gonna be a stretch

2018-11-27 04:12:26 UTC

22m in real people units.

2018-11-27 04:12:37 UTC

Would CO2 work as a stabilizer within the weapon? Keeping the fuel from igniting as easily?

2018-11-27 04:12:52 UTC

Diesel napalm is stable enough

2018-11-27 04:13:02 UTC

Because napalm reacts with oxygen right

2018-11-27 04:13:05 UTC

God no

2018-11-27 04:13:12 UTC

Nope

2018-11-27 04:13:17 UTC

Oh ok I'm thinking of something else

2018-11-27 04:13:24 UTC

I mean you could probably dope it with aluminum powder or something

2018-11-27 04:13:35 UTC

But that'd be kinda stupid

2018-11-27 04:13:52 UTC

Yeah, that wouldn't work

2018-11-27 04:14:01 UTC

So anyway, we're looking at 14m for a hand unit

2018-11-27 04:14:07 UTC

To be close to TT range

2018-11-27 04:14:09 UTC

25 yards of range would kill your CO2 real quick

2018-11-27 04:14:47 UTC

Make the CO2 easy to reload, it makes that an option, though you have to carry CO2 canisters

2018-11-27 04:14:54 UTC

Well

2018-11-27 04:14:57 UTC

Maybe not

2018-11-27 04:15:13 UTC

If you use diesel fuel you'd need a magnesium torch to light it effectively

2018-11-27 04:15:21 UTC

A tank setup but that's going to get heavy quick

2018-11-27 04:15:24 UTC

Which means the fuel can can be a CO2 reservoir

2018-11-27 04:15:28 UTC

Feed the co2 in

2018-11-27 04:15:48 UTC

Nah the hand flamer is fed by a worn fuel reserve

2018-11-27 04:15:55 UTC

CO2 would be on the gun

2018-11-27 04:16:15 UTC

Otherwise you'd lose the coolant properties as the gas expands down the tube

2018-11-27 04:16:52 UTC

You can easily run a foot or so of tubing around the critical parts and then feed it in to the compression stage

2018-11-27 04:17:17 UTC

Only downside is a slight delay when you fire

2018-11-27 04:17:28 UTC

But it's a functional showpiece so that's irrelevant

2018-11-27 04:24:31 UTC

Is the torch the simplest part? You can just mount a modified consumer end/industrial torch for that.

2018-11-27 04:25:58 UTC

I mean yeah, propane torch or magnesium torch it's pretty simple.

2018-11-27 04:26:04 UTC

Just slave it to the trigger
