I have a huge guard army thats mostly painted

I need to finish my kriegers off

and then finish my death army off

then finish repainting my ultramarines

cause all their unitmarkings are getting upgraded from HH company format to 40k company format

I'm trying to be disciplined

This is 12 years of hobbying tbh

I've wanted to do a DarkMech force ever since Admech came out

well I'm not sure it counts but I've been in the game for... 15 years

Its like 2k or something

a solid 8 of that was a hiatus from being sick of GW's shit though

some FW 30k admech stuff

most is 40k tho

I use em allies

GW are a neccessary evil the way I see it

I don't like the way they use CAD etc now

I don't hate the CAD minis

But compared to other hobby firms their prices are "not that bad"

but still extortionate

er...

I mean, maybe?

I'm not excusing what they do but if you collect warmahordes or whatever

you're probably spending the same amount for nice armies

oh god yeah I'm sure hordes is expensive as fuck now

but I have no real experience with those systems

it used to be cool when a force was like... a caster, two Jacks and some grunts

stuff like FoW is dirt cheap by comparison though

I think the main thing about 40k

and Gaslands has taken root in my brain

is how fun the lore is

oh shit yeah

Thats hard to replace which is what has kept me there

plus my LGS is Warhammer world

I've got like... 2k of Necrons but I barely use them because their lore has kind of fallen on it's ass

the home of gamesworkshop lmao

Yeah I prefered old necron lore waaay better

though the new madness of the necron lords etc stuff is pretty cool

I don't hate the new lore but it's kinda gone campy
