Sending some more pics

2018-09-14 22:55:54 UTC

7.92x57 "8mm" seems likely

Def Turk or Arabic

2018-09-14 22:57:41 UTC

Don't use it in a semi auto and watch for hangfire but it should be fine.

2018-09-14 22:57:48 UTC

Noted

2018-09-14 22:57:57 UTC

Would it work in a G98?

2018-09-14 22:58:03 UTC

The 7.9 is 7.92 (8mm)

2018-09-14 22:58:13 UTC

I figured it was an 8mm

2018-09-14 22:58:30 UTC

I should've grabbed one of the brass stripper clips too

2018-09-14 22:58:42 UTC

If it's older it should use m88

2018-09-14 22:58:58 UTC

1903 was when it switched to 8mm

2018-09-14 22:59:25 UTC

One I was looking at was a 1914 spandau

2018-09-14 22:59:29 UTC

So it should be fine then

2018-09-14 23:00:25 UTC

Worse yet alot of original guns are rechambered for 8mm

2018-09-14 23:00:37 UTC

And the markings conflict

2018-09-14 23:00:55 UTC

That should be gtg in a 1914 provided it isn't badly reloaded

2018-09-14 23:01:11 UTC

Stick caliper on projectile to make sure it isn't something else

2018-09-14 23:01:18 UTC

That case looks pretty bad

2018-09-14 23:01:45 UTC

The little Turkish crest is squashed so it's either been fired or reloaded twice or it was just a weak stamp

2018-09-14 23:02:48 UTC

I see

2018-09-14 23:03:19 UTC

What diameter and length should i check for on the projectile?

2018-09-15 01:58:48 UTC

Just check to See that it's roughy 7.92mm

2018-09-15 01:59:00 UTC

You own a caliper I hope

Might have blues

2018-09-15 07:03:19 UTC

Gonna buy a Makarov, what should I look for?

2018-09-15 07:19:40 UTC

Baikal ij70

2018-09-15 07:43:46 UTC

Any particular reason?

2018-09-15 07:46:06 UTC

Also, good price range?

2018-09-15 11:22:01 UTC

Just remember its milsurp even if is "new", so treat it like buying a used gun. Inspect the condition of barrel, blued finish, rust on internal parts carefully $250-400

2018-09-15 11:22:38 UTC

The Russian and east german ones have the best manufacturing quality
